Hot Interracial Romances – End of April/Beginning of May 2014

Hot Interracial Romances – End of April/Beginning of May 2014

Hi Guys, Confession: I’ve been so busy writing, I haven’t had much time to read lately. So I’ve decided to reformat my IR Book Review blog. From now on, I’ll only being doing comprehensive reviews of B+ and above work. And every week or so, I’ll be talking about books that are heating up the Amazon charts. These are books that I haven’t read, but have definitely gotten my attention, so if you have read any of these books, let us know in the comments. You could help move them up someone’s TBR list. And if you want to check out any of the below books on Amazon, just click on the cover image(s). COME HOME AGAIN (The Donovans) by Nana Malone Description:  Anything can be fixed with a little Duct Tape and sass… At least that’s...

HER WILD AND SEXY NIGHTS by Theodora Taylor

HER WILD AND SEXY NIGHTS by Theodora Taylor

My first novella, HER WILD AND SEXY NIGHTS, (part of the Harlequin Kimani DIM THE LIGHTS anthology) is finally here–and ooh-la-la, it’s set in Paris. I got such a kick out of this story’s rough English footballer hero, Mick Attwater, and I think you will, too. Oh, and did I mention RT Book Reviews gave the collection 4 1/2 stars?!?! Sweet! Here’s the description: Janatha Simmons is jetting off to Paris solo to take her mind off a very public breakup that has left her with no love for athletes. But before the plane even lands, she’s starting a sizzling fling with ruggedly sexy Mick Attwater, and he’s taking her to new sky-high heights. Could this affair turn into something more—even after his secret is revealed? Click below to...

THE SESSIONS by Laurel Rivers

THE SESSIONS by Laurel Rivers

Description: When Serena, a grown woman, is forced into counseling by her overbearing parents, she get’s more than expected from the sessions with her sexy therapist. The Good: Ms. Rivers has a good narrative voice, and this is a pretty clever situation. I also kind of love that the main character is a total perv. The story is structurally sound. And I’m a sucker for a good, clever last line (like “Nobody’s perfect!” at the end of Some Like It Hot). This story has one of those lines. I actually laughed out loud. The Bad: The main character goes on long interior voice rambles, and the whole story has an early Disney princess movie feel to it: the H/H barely talk but they fall for each other quickly. Also, readers might be frustrated...

Advice about Writing

Advice about Writing

From the inbox: Q1: I have just finished reading this fabulous book you have written. I only ask advice from you. I am an aspiring writer myself, but being a new mother there hasn’t been much time to really write many stories. I am a big paranormal fiction nut. Just wondering on how to I go about getting published. A: Oh, I feel you, girl. New motherhood really took it out of me and my writing practice. My number one piece of advice: Go easy on yourself! Those newborn months are bad enough without you constantly beating up on yourself for not writing. The one big thing I wish I hadn’t done was put such a high writing expectation on maternity leave. I look back and wish I’d used that time to sleep. My second piece of advice is get some sort of...

My 2014 Release Schedule

My 2014 Release Schedule

Bad News: No new stuff til April. Good News: There will be lots of new stuff this year, because I’ve signed with Harlequin Kimani for a few stories and am now a hybrid author. So keeping in mind that all dates are subject to change, here’s what I’m hoping my release schedule will be this year: April: Contemporary Romance Novel. Still going back and forth on the title, but it stars Sam from HIS ONE AND ONLY, a Russian hockey player (Alexei’s Rustanov’s cousin in fact!), an orphan, and a completely lovable pitbull. May: My first novella (And a really terrific one–I had SO much fun writing it, and I think the soccer player hero is insanely delicious) as part of DIM THE LIGHTS, a collection from Harlequin Kimani. “Three...

THE MASSEUSE and THE DRAGON by Violette Dubrinsky

THE MASSEUSE and THE DRAGON by Violette Dubrinsky

There are a few authors who fellow readers often recommend I read through Goodreads and whatnot. Violette Dubrinsky’s works come up a lot. I love her paranormal work, and so when she turned her typing fingers to contemporary, I decided to have a peek. Description: THE MASSEUSE is part one of a saga that begins when an executive named Jezebel Carter gets what turns into an erotic massage by a man she thinks is just a masseuse. Spoiler-but-not-really: he’s totally not. THE DRAGON is part two of that saga. I suggest buying both from the get, because if you’re some place you can’t download the second book when you’re done reading the first, you will be frustrated and angry at both yourself and Ms. Dubrinsky. The Good: THE MASSEUSE:...

WOLF AND SOUL is HERE!!!

WOLF AND SOUL is HERE!!!

Guys…GUYS!!! It has been some kind of journey. Let me tell you, Tu and Grady put me through the emotional wringer. I literally laughed, I literally cried…but I won’t say anymore, because I’m hoping you enjoy every second of their story as much as I did. So without further ado, here’s the description, along with a handy link for downloading: WOLF AND SOUL, Book 3 of the Amazon Bestselling Alaska Princesses Trilogy is finally here!  Tu Ataneq and Grady Wulfkonig are the last two shifters on the face of this earth who would ever get together. They’re complete opposites–him an uptight former sheriff and her a former party girl. Plus, they have history–ugly history that Tu doubts she’ll ever be able overcome....

AMBER’S FANTASY by Pepper Anthony

AMBER’S FANTASY by Pepper Anthony

Description: When the otherwise practical, executive assistant, Amber gets caught with a stash of menage a trois novels by her company’s IT guy, Ray, she’s more than a little embarrassed. However, Ray’s intrigued and more importantly, wondering if he and his cousin, Carl, can make her fantasy come true. But how to get around their company’s pesky no-dating policy? The Good: This is a cute little love story with some nice will they or won’t they suspense. Perfect amount of story for the length. Ms. Anthony doesn’t go too big or leave her readers wanting more. Also, love that it’s set in Portland. The Bad: Amber’s bestie was a bit convenient, and Carl’s character was too intriguing to be given so little page...

WOLF AND SOUL Delayed [Huge Sad Face]

WOLF AND SOUL Delayed [Huge Sad Face]

I’m feverishly working on bringing this tale to a close, so I’m not going to take up too much time with this post. Main Point: WOLF AND SOUL will not be releasing on December 31st (today) as promised, and I am so very sorry. 2013 really threw me for a loop as far as finding out the difference between what I think I can do and what I can realistically do. And December… well, it’s a tale as old as time, filled with unexpected present shopping, obligations to relatives, and of course, ear infections (ear infections seem to be the universe’s way of keeping parents with deadlines down). And I don’t want to throw the Steelers under the bus, but them coming thisclose to the playoffs did not help as far as writing on Sundays went. But...
