Hot New Book Alert for July: JAGGER by Eve Vaughn

Hot New Book Alert for July: JAGGER by Eve Vaughn

I’m upset as anybody that my TBR list dates back to 2013. But this cover for JAGGER, the latest Eve Vaughn book, is so delicious, that I’ve decided to rip through the entire series, starting with GIANMARCO (which has been waiting to be read patiently on my Kindle Fire since 2013) while I’m on vacation! Picture me rubbing my hands together SO...

THE SESSIONS by Laurel Rivers

THE SESSIONS by Laurel Rivers

Description: When Serena, a grown woman, is forced into counseling by her overbearing parents, she get’s more than expected from the sessions with her sexy therapist. The Good: Ms. Rivers has a good narrative voice, and this is a pretty clever situation. I also kind of love that the main character is a total perv. The story is structurally sound. And I’m a sucker for a good, clever last line (like “Nobody’s perfect!” at the end of Some Like It Hot). This story has one of those lines. I actually laughed out loud. The Bad: The main character goes on long interior voice rambles, and the whole story has an early Disney princess movie feel to it: the H/H barely talk but they fall for each other quickly. Also, readers might be frustrated...

THE MASSEUSE and THE DRAGON by Violette Dubrinsky

THE MASSEUSE and THE DRAGON by Violette Dubrinsky

There are a few authors who fellow readers often recommend I read through Goodreads and whatnot. Violette Dubrinsky’s works come up a lot. I love her paranormal work, and so when she turned her typing fingers to contemporary, I decided to have a peek. Description: THE MASSEUSE is part one of a saga that begins when an executive named Jezebel Carter gets what turns into an erotic massage by a man she thinks is just a masseuse. Spoiler-but-not-really: he’s totally not. THE DRAGON is part two of that saga. I suggest buying both from the get, because if you’re some place you can’t download the second book when you’re done reading the first, you will be frustrated and angry at both yourself and Ms. Dubrinsky. The Good: THE MASSEUSE:...

AMBER’S FANTASY by Pepper Anthony

AMBER’S FANTASY by Pepper Anthony

Description: When the otherwise practical, executive assistant, Amber gets caught with a stash of menage a trois novels by her company’s IT guy, Ray, she’s more than a little embarrassed. However, Ray’s intrigued and more importantly, wondering if he and his cousin, Carl, can make her fantasy come true. But how to get around their company’s pesky no-dating policy? The Good: This is a cute little love story with some nice will they or won’t they suspense. Perfect amount of story for the length. Ms. Anthony doesn’t go too big or leave her readers wanting more. Also, love that it’s set in Portland. The Bad: Amber’s bestie was a bit convenient, and Carl’s character was too intriguing to be given so little page...

TO HOLD AND TO LOVE and TO HOLD AND TO HEAL by Naomi Lecroy

TO HOLD AND TO LOVE and TO HOLD AND TO HEAL by Naomi Lecroy

Description: TO HOLD AND TO HEAL: Nice is at her wit’s end, struggling to keep her alcoholic father’s bar and grill open after the death of her brother, dealing with flaky employees, and just about working herself to death. She more than needs some sexual diversion, so when a sexy vet with a limp offers her a one night stand, she takes him up on it–only to have him walk through the bar’s door the next day. As it turns out, he was one of her dead brother’s best friend’s. He promised her brother he’d take care of her, and he’s not going home until he does. TO HOLD AND TO LOVE: When Alyssa starts writing a Navy Seal in a pen pal program, she has no idea that their letters back and forth will eventually ignite sparks...

BEAST by Pepper Pace

BEAST by Pepper Pace

Description: When plus-size beauty, Ashleigh, meets Chris, a “beast” of a marine with a face disfigured from a cleft palate at the gym, sparks fly. But can she overcome her baggage and make an HEA happen with the best man she’s ever had the honor of dating? BEAST quite deservedly made it to the semi-final rounds of this year’s Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award contest. The Good: I’m so late on this, that I doubt anyone who reads this review hasn’t actually already read the book yet. But I’m going to just go ahead and add to the gush fest. This book is sooooooo good. I love that the heroine is plus-sized and struggles with both self-esteem issues and Type 2 diabetes. Ashleigh is incredibly relatable and I could not recommend...
