THE BROKEN H by J.L. Langley

THE BROKEN H by J.L. Langley

Description: When Sheriff Grayson Hunter is called back to his ancestral home, The Broken H, he has no idea he’s really getting a call to fall back in love with its handsome Apache foreman, Shane Cortez. The Good: This couple is easy to root for, and Ms. Langley pays a lot of attention to developing their relationship in and out of bed. I loved that Shane wore glasses and had really long hair — both of which drove Grayson crazy with desire. Ms. Langley gives this couple several interesting obstacles, including a 13-year age gap and a secret past. Also, there definitely isn’t any skimping on the sex. This book is chock full of it. The Bad: Way too many typos, and plot threads — a few of which don’t get wrapped up or are resolved in a...

EMPLOYEE RELATIONS by Wynter Daniels

EMPLOYEE RELATIONS by Wynter Daniels

Description: When down-on-her-luck Scarlet Eldrige accepts a job as a nanny for a hellion teen, she’s thoroughly unprepared for the passion her charge’s father, Ethan, makes her feel. Can she keep both the unruly teenager and her attraction to Ethan in check? The Good: Scarlet is a very sweet girl, and the theme of luck is played out very well. The story had a strong, compelling plot, and the sex scenes were hot and well-executed. Certainly worth the very small price! The Bad: Scarlet is very concerned that everyone (including her bratty charge) likes her, and at times comes off as a doormat. Readers who don’t like “weak” characters, will find this heroine a bit frustrating. Also, there is a somewhat cliche, and ultimately unneeded...

MACY’S AWAKENING by Pepper Anthony

MACY’S AWAKENING by Pepper Anthony

Description: When ┬áthe nineteen-year-old bi-racial daughter of an old college buddy gets in trouble with the law (through no fault of her own), Jerrod Preston, a divorced forty-three-year-old attorney,┬ásteps in to help. He agrees to not only represent her but also give her a place to live for seven weeks until her court date (she lives in another city, but was in town for a wedding). What he doesn’t count on is Macy breathing fresh air into his otherwise stale life. But can they overcome the many obstacles getting in the way of their budding love and passion? The Good: This was a definite page turner. The author sent me this novel for review, and I opened it up just to see if I’d consider reading it in full. But somehow I didn’t end up putting...

CHRISTMAS & FOREVER by Delilah Hunt

CHRISTMAS & FOREVER by Delilah Hunt

Description: Aiden, a traumatized and wounded doctor, tries to resist his attraction to, Liya, the much younger receptionist at his clinic. But when they both end up at his cabin for the holidays, even the snow can’t stop them from heating up the winter nights. The Good: Ms. Hunt has a weird way of making me like situations that I don’t normally like. For example, I didn’t think her mute cowboy romance, LOVE UNSPOKEN, would be quite to my taste (I only read it on the strength of an excerpt she posted on another IR site), but it was one of my favorite romances of the year. And, I’ve never been a fan of May/December romances but I really loved this one. It was like watching Dr. House fall in love, even though he was super-resistant to it....
